In today's environment, a single press conference can define an agency's reputation for years. Yet most command staff receive little to no formal training in crisis communication. They're expected to perform under the most intense scrutiny with no preparation.

ClearCommand changes that. Developed by a working Chief of Police with direct experience managing media during critical incidents, this workshop delivers the frameworks, practice, and confidence command staff need to communicate effectively when it matters most.

Curriculum

Four Modules. Two Days. Career-Defining Skills.

Each module builds on the last, from foundational frameworks to live performance under pressure.

Module 01

Crisis Communication Foundations

Building the framework for clear, credible messaging under pressure. Participants learn the principles of crisis communication, message architecture, and how to structure statements that convey authority, empathy, and transparency, even when details are still developing. This module establishes the mental models that drive every interaction that follows.

Module 02

Media Relations Under Pressure

Handling press conferences, hostile questions, and breaking news scenarios. Participants learn how to manage adversarial media interactions, bridge difficult questions to key messages, and maintain composure when reporters push back. Includes analysis of real-world case studies, both successes and failures, from recent critical incidents.

Module 03

Live Press Conference Role-Play

Immersive simulation with real-time feedback from a former law enforcement PIO. Participants step behind the podium and face realistic press scenarios, from officer-involved shootings to community protests to school incidents. Every performance is recorded, reviewed, and debriefed with specific, actionable coaching.

Module 04

90-Day Command Action Plan

Leave with a personalized, executable communication plan for your department. Participants develop a 90-day roadmap covering media relationship building, internal communication protocols, social media strategy, and crisis communication drills, specific to their agency, their community, and their command structure.
